Altar Society

The Altar Society prepares and maintains the altar and sanctuary so that Masses may be offered in an orderly,  reverent manner.

Membership in the Altar Society is open to both men and women, and includes those who are unable to attend meetings regularly, but pay dues and assist in any areas they are able. Members of the linen committee volunteer to wash the altar linens on a rotating basis. Some Altar Society members also volunteer to wash the albs worn by our altar servers. A cleaning committee is responsible for cleaning and preparing the church for special liturgies at Christmas and Easter. Some members volunteer to pray the rosary at the wake of parishioners and their family members when requested.

Money raised through fundraisers and dues is used to purchase linens and the bread and wine used in the liturgy. Two cookie bake sales per year, one in the spring and one in the fall, also help to defer the costs of cleaning supplies and seasonal adornments. Annual dues are $10.00. If you are unable to join at this time,  please consider helping out by making a donation and/or by keeping us in your prayers throughout the year.

All are welcome to join us on the first Monday of each month at 5:00 pm in church to pray the  Scriptural Rosary for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Following, is the 6:00 pm Mass which is offered for all Altar Society members, living and deceased.
